Woes of the Mets

Last night the Mets found another way to blow it to the Phillies. The Mets led early in the game, 3-1, Chase Utley came up and blasted an RBI double in the 6th and Matt Stairs tied it in the 7th. The game went into extras where Raul Ibanez hit a game winning 3 run jack off of Ken Takahashi. It is ok though because Ibanez is a juicer.

This 3 game series, two wins by the phils, is summed up for the Mets by blown early game leads and losing in dramatic fashion, late.

The Phillies continue to own the late innings against the Mets. It just seems that the Phillies always find ways to win but the Mets don't seem to have that magic. It is what seperates the great teams from good teams.

On a positive note, Tim Redding has had solid outings in his last two games. Last night he went seven innings giving up three runs on six hits. With injury problems the Mets are going to have to lean on Redding more than they would like to.
